Pop-Up DIY Workshop, Friday Aug. 23rd

Join us for an evening of fun DIY projects right on the sidewalk in front of The Center!

The Aquarium of the Pacific has hosted a series of Zero-Waste Workshops that aim to help participants create more sustainable alternatives to everyday household items. A group of Aquarium Staff has been working hard to create a Do It Yourself Workshop to teach others how to create environmentally sustainable alternatives to common household items. These items include shampoo bars, up-cycled grocery bags, homemade toothpaste, reusable food wrap made from bees wax and more. On the 23rd we will set up a booth and facilitate 1 or 2 of these activities. Passersby can come up and make and take the DIY items!

Additional to the DIY workshop, pass by and learn more about how to get involved and create community with the Long Beach Time Exchange, by joining a network of neighbors who share skills with one another and instead of using money, they use time as currency!

Three acts of terror disrupt the lives of ordinary people. In Binghamton, an ESL teacher dealing with domestic abuse finds even greater violence at her school. In Orlando, two lovers drifting apart may be separated by the hate of another. In Paris, friends on an introspective night out are caught up in a brutal madness.
